Shane Eagle is back and back with a new single titled ‘Julia‘. Many would either associate this song with money or substances, but it is rather far from it. The song basically touches on sensitive issues within the country, maybe the world in general as well as personal experiences as an observant individual trying to grow inbetween all the dilemmas.
So, what do we think about the song? It’s lyrically empowering and well, many rappers shy away from the sensitive news and actual developments happening around them. Eagle on the other hand, has rather used his career and art as a platform to educate and inform the uninformed. Everyone listens to music, so what better way to send out messages than the obvious?
What do we think about the music video? He took it back to the smooth and sombre 90s, with visuals which aesthetically demonstrate his message and ambiance of the song. The beginning of the video takes us back to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Cartoons & Cereal’ jam, eventually it develops into A$AP Rocky’s ‘Goldie’ music video with the crew shots; one would think Eagle is more of a story teller who takes up inspiration from young international favourites, Joey Badass and Chance The Rapper. It’s a dope video, something unique and so real. No filter needed, the track and video is well said and done, shout out to the boy on another great vibe.
