This past weekend we missioned to Grandwest Casino at the Sun Exhibit area and invaded some space at one of Cape Town’s most sought after annual events – Sneaker Exchange Cape Town #SXCCPT.
The place was abuzz with sneaker traders, local fashion traders and some really epic entertainment. Sneaker heads came out in their droves to buy the very best in sneakers from traders such as ASICS, Jack Lemkus and some really cool independent traders hustlin’ and bustlin’ to get their limited-edition sneakers sold.
Okay, so the sneakers were pretty incredible but the entertainment just injected that funk factor into the atmosphere and got the crowd pumped. Artist such as Cape Town’s rising star and rap babe Miss Celaneous, kept things very authentic and had the crowd in hip-hop heaven. DJ Speedsta took to the decks and of course things got lit in that very moment with “Mayo” plus he had a little pop-up store selling “Mayo” merchandise.
Da Les had the stage jumping in true North God fashion and obviously his signature dance moves were a hit – he performed his latest single , Lifestyle, which features Gemini Major. Check it out here
Aewon Wolf had the entire place poppin’ when he gave an energetic performance like no other and had the crowd completely crazed by his amazingness.
Oh we have to mention that the legendary DJ Ready D was also in the house and he was part of a panel speaking about the culture of sneakers and its affiliation to hip-hop, which was really interesting. He also appealed to our young entepreneurs to come up with SA patented sneakers so that we can start getting excited about our own kicks. Hell yes!
See what we got up to at Sneaker Exchange Cape Town, day was so chilled and we had loads of fun.
